Tuxedo Toby!'s Story

Tuxedo Toby!

We meet many animals through our Detroit Pets For Life (PFL) program. Toby is one who made his home under a porch. A fan of consistent meals, it was alarming when he didn’t make an appearance for a few days. When he finally showed, it was obvious he’d suffered a physical trauma causing him difficulty walking. The Director of PFL offered to ‘rehome’ this friendly boy into a safe environment.

Now this sweet boy is relishing living inside and back to walking well. He’s a professed cuddle bug and loves his food! He’s also learning the joys of playing.

Toby tested positive for FIV. But don’t let that dissuade you! He’s not showing any symptoms and can live a long life despite the diagnosis.
Risk of transmission to other cats in the house is unlikely unless they fight furiously. FIV can be transmitted through deep bite wounds.

We believe Toby was born Spring of 2023. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, FELV tested negative, dewormed and on parasite prevention.

We’re not sure how he will do with other cats and dogs, but we know he probably came across many during his life on the streets. He may be fearful and weary of dogs, and possibly cats too. We offer foster to adopt.

If you’re interested in this marvelous boy, we’d love to hear from you.
