Tuxedo's Story

Meet Tuxedo—yes, his name fits him perfectly, and so does the title “distinguished gentleman.” 🖤🤍

At 7 years old, Tuxedo has mastered the art of being laid-back and easygoing, while still keeping plenty of playful spark. He especially loves wand toys and is always up for a game when the mood strikes. He’s incredibly outgoing and people-oriented, making fast friends with just about anyone he meets.

Tuxedo is also delightfully chatty—he’ll let you know when he wants something, when he’s feeling lonely, or when he simply has an important announcement to make. He doesn’t love being left alone for long periods and would thrive in a home where he gets lots of companionship. In return, he offers endless purrs, headbutts for pets, and constant biscuit-making (sometimes he kneads the floor just because you looked at him). And if you're hoping for a cat that likes to be held, Tuxedo is your guy. He loves being carried around like a widdle baby.

Curious by nature, Tuxedo always wants to know what’s going on and is a big fan of watching wildlife videos on YouTube, making him the perfect couch companion. He likes other cats and would prefer a forever home with a cat friend to keep him company. While we don’t know his history with dogs, he would do great with older, respectful kids who can appreciate his affectionate and gentle personality.

Tuxedo is a super loving, handsome boy looking for a home where he can be adored, talked back to, and included in daily life. If you’re searching for a loyal, purring shadow with a lot of charm, Tuxedo might be your guy.

His adoption fee includes:
• Neuter
• Dewormer
• FeLV testing
• Microchip
• Core vaccines
• A free 30-day subscription to Petcademy (24/7 cat behavior support!)
• A free exam at a ChewyVet clinic + a $50 Chewy gift card
• A “go home” bag of goodies

Tuxedo is FIV+, which is NOT considered special needs. As long as they're kept indoors and have regular, annual vet checks and routine vet care (like all cats), FIV+ cats have similar life expectancy and health outcomes as non-FIV cats. They can also live with other cat-friendly cats just fine. Learn more about FIV: https://www.denverkittens.org/post/fiv-what-is-it

Denver Kittens's Adoption Policy
1) Fill out an adoption application. Please note: we do not track special requests. If you have a specific breed you're looking for, please sign up for our enews (below) or follow us on social media to keep an eye on our cats/kittens as they come into rescue. Kittens must be adopted in pairs or to homes that already have another young cat. No exceptions. 2) If the cat/kitten you want to adopt is available, and we think you're a good match, we'll reach out to you to set up a meet and greet. This will typically happen within 24 hours. 3) The in-person meet and greet in the foster home is usually scheduled within 1-3 days. Setting up a meet-and-greet does not put a "hold" on a kitty. They are considered adoptable until the adoption fee is paid. 4) If it's a match, the adoption is finalized by signing an adoption contract and paying the adoption fee. All fosters need to be spayed/neutered before going home, so, especially for kittens, you may need to wait a few days or a few weeks, depending on where they're at in that process. Once the pet is ready to go home, please be prepared to pick it up within 24 hours. 5) Pickup will be scheduled. Kitty must be picked up within 24 hours of finalized adoption.
