TUX's Story

NEUTERED MALE
APPROXIMATELY 1-3 YEARS OLD

Tux is a young Manx tuxedo with a bold personality and a lot to say.

When he was found as a stray in Campbell River after being cared for by a kind local, it was clear he didn’t have a home of his own. Now settled into the indoor life, Tux is showing just how affectionate, playful, and people-oriented he really is.

He would be best suited for someone who:
• Enjoys a chatty, conversational cat
• Wants a social, people-oriented companion
• Enjoys playtime (and a bit of goofiness)
• Appreciates affection
• Can offer patience with grooming
• Can support his social learning with other cats
• Wants a non-picky cat

Tux is very vocal and loves to “talk.” He’s not just noisy, he’s conversational. Talk to him, and he’ll happily respond, whether he’s commenting on dinner time, asking what you’re doing, or just checking in.

Tux likes to be involved in everything going on around him, especially if food might be involved. He enjoys being close to his people, lounging nearby during the day and sleeping at your feet at night. He’s generally trusting once he gets to know you and has been comfortable being picked up. He takes his job of personal shadow very seriously. Someone who works from home or always has family at home would be ideal!

Tux is playful and entertaining, with a love for pom-poms, wand toys, tunnels, and even chasing ice cubes. He’ll happily play on his own but also enjoys interactive play with his people. He can be a little skittish with toys moving above his head, but gains confidence with gentle, low-to-the-ground play. He is still learning how to play with other cats and sometimes doesn't understand their cues, but he is slowly learning.

Tux loves scritches and attention and doesn’t get over-stimulated easily. When he does occasionally hit his limit, he’s very clear about it, responding with a quick turn-around or a gentle bap to tell you “I’m done”. He will happily accept pets forever, and ever, and ever. He will give you head boops and drool all over your hands to show you his appreciation.

Tux has a funny relationship with brushing. He loves how it feels, but as soon as he realizes it’s a brush, he gets a bit nervous. He’s already improving, but will need a patient adopter to help him continue building positive associations with grooming. He does shed a lot for a short haired cat so brushing or firm petting is appreciated.

Tux will happily eat just about anything offered , so it’s best not to leave food out. He is very human-food curious and often tries to infiltrate mealtime to investigate whatever the people are having. His foster has been working on enforcing rules around mealtime, but the love for food remains!

Tux is still figuring out how to navigate life with other cats and where he fits in the social hierarchy. While he’s curious and wants to play, he’s learning how to engage appropriately. A patient home as an only cat or with confident, tolerant cats would suit him well. He very much wants to be the king of the castle and center of attention.

Tux is a social, playful, and affectionate cat with a big personality and an even bigger voice. He’s still learning the ropes but already has shown how much of a fun and loving guy he is! If you’re looking for a chatty, curious cat who wants to be your shadow, Tux might be your perfect match.

Tux has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vet checked, and vaccinated. His medical records will accompany him upon adoption.

If you would like to be Tux's new family, please submit an application using this link: HTTPS://CRPAWS.ca/adoption If you are interested in more than one CRPAWS cat, include all their names on your application.

Every application is considered carefully by our small but mighty team of volunteers. We will be in touch as soon as possible, normally in 3 days or less.
