Tux's Story
Meet Tux,

Tux is a calm, affectionate boy who thrives in a quiet, predictable home. In the mornings, he greets the day with an almost prancing walk, excited for his routine, your attention, and his first treat. He loves chin rubs and being brushed, leaning in to soak up the attention, and shows his happiness in sweet ways — including wagging his tail when working on his puzzles to get treats. Tux also adores sunny spots and will happily follow the sunlight as it moves through the house.

Tux enjoys staying close to his person, whether sitting beside you, joining a cat nap, or sharing the bed at night (while still politely giving space). He communicates clearly through body language when he needs a break, making him a wonderful match for someone who understands and respects feline cues.

Tux is a 7–8-year-old short-haired gentleman and a true gentle giant at about 17 pounds. He is up to date on vaccinations and would do best in an adult-only home without other pets, ideally with an experienced cat owner. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who values comfort, affection, and sunshine, Tux may be the perfect addition to your home.

If you’re interested in adopting Tux, please fill out an online application at https://melrosehumanesociety.org/adopt
