Tux's Story

Meet Tux!

Tux was found out in the cold, but you’d never know it by how much love this big fluffy guy has to give. He’s estimated to be around 3–6 years old, neutered, and FeLV/FIV negative, with rabies and FVRCP vaccines up to date. He’s also been treated for ticks and a double ear infection and is feeling so much better now.

Tux is a gentle, quiet soul who’s currently decompressing in his foster home — and he’s been an absolute gentleman. He uses the litterbox perfectly, eats politely (a little grazer!), and is happiest when he can be near his humans. He LOVES affection and is a world-class biscuit-maker. He is also a pro at napping with you on the bed and rubbing adorable against furniture to convince you to keep petting him. He even lets you pick his large butt up and carry him around.

With his medium-length fur, huge paws, and overall big, fluffy presence, we suspect he may be a Norwegian Forest Cat mix… or at least channeling one. He is much larger in person than photos make him seem. He has the perfect medium coat which requires occasional brushing but doesn't easily mat up. All the fluff without a ton of the up-keep.

Tux is still a bit unsure around other animals, so for now he’d do best as the only pet or with a slow, thoughtful introduction and a place to be isolated or escape the other animals. He has NO mean bone in his body so far and even when introduced to the "terrifying" other cats in the foster home he is all flight and no fight. Right now his foster has him in a spare bedroom for isolation and decompression and occasionally allows a few of the friendly calmer cats in to say hello. Tux hides in his "safety" corner spot but just observes them for now. We will update as his personality blooms more. But with people? He’s all heart. At the vet he was even a good boy for everything!

If you’re looking for a sweet, soft, lovable companion who’s ready for a fresh start, Tux might just be your guy!

email info@springhouseah.com for an application for this handsome boy!

Please email us at info@springhouseah.com to recieve an application for our animals. Please specify in the email which animal you are interested in and someone will get back to you in 24-72 hours. Once you are approved to adopt we can set up a meet and greet with you and the animals we have for adoption. Kittens - adoption fee is $75 for one or $100 for 2. We encourage pairs if the adopter does not have another playful animal/cat at home. Included in adoption is the FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, the Felv/Fiv test, and their spay/neuter and microchip. Kittens adopted before 12 weeks will leave with their first FVRCP vaccines but adopters will need to bring them back for their final FVRCP and Rabies when they are between 12-16 weeks and for their altering/microchipping after they are over 3lbs (this will be included under the adoption fee). Adult cats - adoption fee of $50 which will include the FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, felv/fiv tested, and spayed or neutered and microchipped before leaving the hospital. We encourage pictures and updates sent to the hospital email or texting number :) All adoption fees/donations will go toward Angel Fund to rescue/vet future cats and kittens.
