Tux's Story

Tux is a beautiful 8-year-old tuxedo cat who has spent her entire life as a beloved only pet. Due to her owner’s illness and dementia, she was heartbreakingly surrendered when her family could no longer provide the care she needed. This sudden transition has been very difficult for Tux, and she is currently struggling with the stress of change.

Tux must be the only pet in the home and needs a calm, quiet environment. When first introduced to a new space, she can become very stressed and may show aggression during the first couple of weeks. This behavior comes from fear and confusion, not from a lack of potential to bond. With time, patience, and a predictable routine, Tux can form a deep connection with her person and become a devoted companion.

Being front declawed, Tux relies entirely on an indoor setting where she feels safe and protected. She is best suited for an experienced, patient cat owner who understands that trust may take time—but will be deeply rewarding once earned.

We offer a foster-to-adopt trial phase and will take her back if it isn't working out.
