Tut's Story

Tut came to us in November when his owner passed away and no one in the family could take him. Since then, he has become a favorite of everyone at the rescue. He is estimated to be between 13 and 16 years old. He came to us with an infected tooth and although that was cleared up, a flutter in his heart was discovered. He had an echocardiogram and it was determined that he may have an underlying heart condition called Hyperthrophic Cardiomyopathy. Because of this, he will need echocardiograms every 6-12 months and may eventually need medication. Once we knew it was safe, we had the problem tooth extracted and a dental cleaning completed. He occasionally needs ointment for his eyes, but don't let him fool you, his eyesight is great! Tut is an independent cat who enjoys perusing every corner of the cat adoption center then taking a long nap on the facility manager's computer chair while she works. He usually has at least one zoom across the floor each day. He is not a dominant cat and has been with other cats that have not treated him very nicely. Due to this, he would do best as an only cat or with a kitty that knows how to play nice with others.
