Meet Big Tuna! He is about five years old and is an out-going and super friendly boy. Tuna loves treats (and maybe tuna fish sandwiches), and making biscuits. He is a curious boy, and likes to explore his surroundings. Tuna is very affectionate and will rub up on you in passing. He is a calm, and easy-going kitty who would love hanging out with you while you watch The Office! Don't forget the Tuna fish sandwiches for snacks!

Tuna is listed as special needs, but he really doesn't need anything special! When he got to the shelter he tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Unfortunately there is a stigma attached to this condition so cats like Tuna are at a disadvantage when potential adopters are looking for a new kitty! The truth is, cats like Tuna that have FIV can live with other cats and can live perfectly healthy lives. The way FIV is transmitted is through very deep, aggressive bites (like he probably endured out on the streets before coming to us). FIV cats do not need medication or special food, and can live long full lives without illness. The only thing they need is regular check ups, lots of love, and to stay indoors.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, FIV/FeLV test, microchip, and initial deworming treatment. Vaccinations and deworming are the first in a series, which should be followed up by the adopters veterinarian.
