TAVAILABLE Updated 1-4-2026 LONG TERM RESIDENT Tumbleweed thinks he has one goal in life, to sit and look majestic, like a panther. He is quiet, gets along with other cats, and is beautiful. He was very shy at first and it took a long time for him to trust. But this past year he has become more social and is often the greeter at his door, wanting to be petted. He still doesn't like chaos, but when things are normal, he has decided human friends and attention are pretty great. Tumbleweed is looking for someone with a calm home and lots of love. He and his equally beautiful brother are 2-1/2+ years old and have been with us over 2 years. He's neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. C.A.R.A (Citizens for Animal Rescue and Adoption)'s Adoption Policy

Please email citizensanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application or use our online link. Once an application is approved you will be contacted to set up an appointment to visit the animals. If you let us know what you have in mind (age, gender, personality), we'll have several ready to meet. We are open to the public Monday-Friday 1-4PM and Saturday/other times by appointment. Please call 217-655-4353 or 217-799-8858 for appointments and questions. After you've met and decided on the pet for you, you will fill out the final paperwork and you will be able to take your pet home. All adopters must be able to meet and pick up their pet as we do not offer transportation. All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

C.A.R.A. is a 501(c)3 non-for-profit, No Kill animal shelter and rescue for homeless, injured/neglected or surrendered animals. Through community donations we are able to provide high quality care and rehabilitation for animals in our care.
