Tula's Story

Tula was stumbled upon by her caretaker while visiting a local swap meet in Riverside. Her finder heard the sound of a kitten crying and meowing, and when she looked underneath a container surrounded by junk and trash, she found Tula hiding there all alone. The swap meet owner shared that the kitten had been there for several days without food, water, siblings, or her mother—thin, malnourished, frightened, and struggling to survive. The caretaker and her mom gently tried different ways to coax her out, and she finally emerged when they played the sound of a crying kitten. Once they brought her home, Tula's true personality appeared right away. She was incredibly sweet, affectionate, and clearly grateful to be safe. As she eagerly ate her first wet meal, she purred and made soft, happy noises, showing just how thankful she was to finally be cared for. Since then, Tula has blossomed into a playful, loving, and social kitten. She enjoys playing with toys, exploring her surroundings, and happily interacting with the other cats around her! She gets along well with feline friends and has a gentle, friendly nature that makes her easy to love. Tula also loves attention and affection, and she quickly bonds with the people caring for her. Tula is a resilient little survivor with a sweet heart and playful spirit—now ready for a safe, loving forever home where she can continue to thrive. She is FIV-positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), a common condition in cats that affects the immune system. It is not contagious to people and is only spread between cats through deep bite wounds, not through sharing food, litter boxes, or casual play. FIV-positive cats often live long, healthy lives with routine veterinary care. Apply to adopt her today!
