Tucker's Story

Don’t you love the feel of a cat’s fur? Mine is white and tabby, a nice brown color. I’m called Tucker. Did you know that the name Tucker means “cloth softener” or “cloth weaver”? I’m especially glad for my coat because I am one of 18 cats who were left in the parking lot of a boat store in December 2024! We were left together in 2 carriers/containers. A rescue group brought us to Paws and Claws, where could be safe, warm, and receive the care and attention we need and deserve. I was adopted in April, but unfortunately I was returned to the shelter recently because my people were moving and could not take me along. I appreciate attention and petting, and I started playing a bit my first day here. When you meet me, please touch. Please pet. Please talk to me. I’d love to have people spend time with me. I hope that someday soon I can be someone’s very own Tucker boy. <br/><br/>Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Paws and Claws Humane Society's Adoption Policy

IMPORTANT UPDATE Although our shelter is open to potential adopters during the viewing hours listed on this page, Paws and Claws prefers to schedule viewings and adoptions by appointment. To make an appointment to meet and adopt one of the companion animals on our Website, we ask that you fill out an online application. Potential adopters can either click on the ADOPTION APPLICATION link on the right side of this page, or visit our Website at pawsandclaws.org and go to the "Willing to Adopt a Pet" section, then select the orange "Adoption Form" box. This will allow you to access the Adoption Guidelines and Application Form. After reading the Adoption Guidelines, either complete the online adoption form and return it to us, or print the Adoption Form, fill in the required information, sign it, and email it back to us via info@pawsandclaws.org. You may list up to four animals that you would like to meet. We review the emails every day. We will process all applications in the order that they are received and then once your application has been approved, we will contact you and set up an appointment for you to meet the animal(s) and if possible, do the adoption on the same day you come in.
