Trolley 's Story
Meet Trolley<br/><br/>This young man was caught outside at approximately 6 months old. He is approximately a year old now. He remained with his siblings until they left the shelter. He is still quite shy of people and is slowly learning to trust and be picked up at the shelter. He would benefit from an owner who is home most of the time and has time to teach them how to play and interact with him.. <br/><br/>The Secret to our Hearts:<br/>Trolley is very treat-motivated! If you have a bag of snacks and a feather wand, you’re already his favorite person. <br/><br/>Because he finds his "cat-fidence" through other felines, he needs to join a home that already has a friendly cat to guide him or adopted with another cat around his age from our shelter.<br/><br/>HIs future owners will have to continue the socialization process that has begun at the shelter.<br/> <br/>Cat Socialization Checklist: <br/><br/>* Establish a 'safe base' room with hiding spots and vertical space.<br/>* Use a consistent 'treat call' sound before offering high-value snacks.<br/>* Engage in daily 15-minute interactive play sessions using wand toys.<br/>* Practice 'passive socialization'—sit in the room and read or work quietly near them.<br/>* Respect their boundaries; let these three approach you first.<br/>* Maintain a predictable daily schedule for feeding and play to build security.<br/><br/>If you are would like to add a cat to be a companion to your cat at home, please fill out an adoption application at: https://anadoptflam.com/cat-kitten-dog-application-form/or contact us during shelter hours at Animal Adoptions of Flamborough 905-689-7801.<br/>Visits to the shelter are by appointment only, except drop-in times on Wednesdays 1-3pm, Saturdays 1-3pm, Sundays 1-3pm.
