Hi, I’m Trixie.<br/><br/>When I first arrived at Crestwood Animal Shelter, I wasn’t so sure about this place—or the people in it. I needed time.<br/><br/>So they gave it to me.<br/><br/>And little by little, I started showing them more of who I am.<br/><br/>Now I spend time exploring the cat room and hanging out in the catio, one of my favorite places to watch the world go by. I make my presence known, I let the volunteers pet me and I’m even learning how to play.<br/><br/>Yes, learning. Toys are still a relatively new concept. Sometimes I play with them. Sometimes I study them. Sometimes I roll around with one and look ridiculously adorable. I’m figuring it out.<br/><br/>The volunteers have loved watching these little pieces of me emerge. And maybe that’s what makes me special: getting to know me isn’t something that happens all at once.<br/><br/>There are still firsts waiting for me.<br/><br/>My first favorite spot in a home.<br/>The first time I come looking for my person.<br/>The toy I finally decide is the one.<br/>The day I realize I don’t have to wonder what’s next anymore.<br/><br/>Because I’m home.<br/><br/>I’ve already discovered that life can get pretty good when someone gives you time and lets you find your way.<br/><br/>Now I’m ready to discover what comes next.
