Trinity's Story
As a three-legged cat (or a “tripod” in the parlance), you might think that Trinity would take it slow, keep her remaining paws firmly planted on Mother Earth—but you’d be mistaken. Trinity is a prime example of the astoundingly tenacious adaptability of cats. We’re not sure how she lost her back right leg, but we do know that it hasn’t slowed her down in the slightest. She flies up the climbing shelves and enjoys peering down at you with her distinctive golden eyes as if to say, “Bet you can’t do this, and you’ve got all your limbs!” As quickly as she ascends, she’ll descend and bounce over to you for affection. Trinity is as confident as she is resilient.

Though she wouldn’t stand it being said in her presence, as a tripod, she does still have some special needs to consider. While we require all our cats go to indoor-only homes, in Trinity’s case, this is especially true. She lacks the ground speed to truly defend herself if necessary and would make an easy target. She also has intermittent litter box avoidance issues that we still haven’t found the root cause of. 80-90% of the time she uses her box without issues, but occasionally she has accidents. She does prefer a fastidiously clean box has helped reduce her accidents. Her hunger for attention may also contribute: there seems to be a correlation between how much socialization time she’s getting and the frequency/location of her accidents. Her foster also thinks a home with only one or two other pets may suite her temperament better—not because she is crabby with other animals, but she seems slightly on the defensive with having so many in proximity (as she does in her foster situation).

Trinity is beautiful inside and out and will make a lucky someone with the right understanding of her needs a wonderful partner and companion. It cannot be overstated how sweet and charismatic this special girl is.
