Tortie's Story
Hello, my name is Tortie, and as you may be able to see I’m considered a “tortoiseshell” because of my black and orange coat coloring. We’re actually considered good luck in many cultures ;)

I didn’t have a great upbringing living outdoors with other unwanted cats, but I was rescued and fostered at a young age and I enjoy the company of humans. I like to be pet and sit on laps.

I truly just want the simplicities in life like petting, to be talked to lovingly, and if I’m being honest giving me canned cat food makes me go ga-ga; wet food is my favorite!

I’m a bit on the shy side, but I enjoy the company of other cats, however I am very much allergic to fleas, in particular flea bits, and need to be in a home where fleas won’t be present. And as a side note you may see that a vet ear tipped me when I was spayed; because the vet doesn’t know the cats brought in from rescue they ear tip us all, but I most definitely am not feral.

Please remember that rescue cats have a past and will need someone to be patient and kind with them as they settle in to their new home. Just like humans, trust can come with time. Patience is a requirement to help these cats rebuild trust with humans, and they must remain indoors. We would be more than happy to help educate and provide advice through the rehoming process.

If you’re interested in meeting Tortie, please submit an inquiry through PetFinder with questions or to schedule a time to meet, or, visit our website at uccryakima.org (http://uccryakima.org/) and click on "adoption application”,
