Topaz's Story
Does your cat need a pet cat? Topaz is a dignified lady who was living as a stray for a couple of years. Another rescue group had spayed her as part as a trap neuter return program. She used to take shelter under the shed of a kind couple who were feeding her. When the shed was destroyed and she had nowhere safe to hide, the couple reached out to our rescue for help. She was trapped and we quickly noticed that she was very reserved but not aggressive at all. She is a shy girl who needs lots of TLC and patience. Some would describe her as a feral cat but that's a word that can be very dangerous! She will lick a squeeze up treat from your hand. Topaz just needs a warm home and food.
She will probably hide under your couch at first, but as she becomes more comfortable with your presence, she will start to venture out and make herself at home.

We noticed that Topaz made a breakthrough in her foster home when they introduced her to their male cat, Barley. She immediately perked up and wanted to follow him around the room. She rubs up against him and even plays with him.
She must go to a home that has another friendly cat for companionship, who will show her that humans aren't so scary after all! If you have experience with shy or scared cats, you will understand that it takes time for them to Blossom and show their true personality.
At Healing Animal SCARS, we believe that all cats deserve the security of a home and the love from humans.
She must remain 100% indoors, because if she got outside she would instinctively run and hide.
Our normal adoption fee for an adult cat is $275, but considering topaz a special situation, we would certainly be negotiable on the adoption donation amount.

Topaz is spayed, has been vaccinated with boosters, was tested for feline leukemia and fiv, treated for parasites, and has a microchip.
If you are seriously interested in adoption, we would love to have a conversation with you.
