Tootsie's Story
Spayed Female
17 Years
13 Pounds
$0

Tootsie is a beautiful 17-year-old spayed female Domestic Shorthair with a mostly white calico coat and a gentle soul to match. Weighing in at a plush 13 pounds, this sweet senior lady has spent her whole life in the comfort of one loving home with an older adult and her beloved litter mate, Smokey Joe.

Right now, the shelter environment feels big and scary to Tootsie. She tends to hide and keep to herself—but underneath that timid exterior is a truly sweet, tender-hearted girl. With patience, soft voices, and a cozy hiding spot to call her own, Tootsie will slowly begin to show her affectionate side. She just needs time to feel safe again.

Tootsie is good with other cats and would absolutely love to go home with Smokey Joe if possible. They’ve shared a lifetime of companionship, and keeping them together would be a dream come true. That said, she can also go to a home of her own, as long as her adopter understands that she’ll need a gentle transition and lots of understanding.

This golden girl isn’t looking for adventure—just a quiet home, a warm bed, and someone kind enough to let her adjust at her own pace. If you have a soft spot for senior kitties and the patience to let love blossom slowly, Tootsie will be a deeply rewarding companion.

Could you be the calm, loving home Tootsie has been waiting for?

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at no additional cost.

No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.

Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If you’d like to show you’re thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org.

Open Adoption Hours:

Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon – 6 pm

Thursday & Friday: Noon – 7 pm

Saturday: Noon – 4 pm

I’m located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642.

We can’t wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!
