Tony the Tiger & Elroy Perez's Story

Tony the Tiger is an outgoing and playful guy — who suffers from outbreaks of single kitten syndrome. He loves to explore, climb furniture, and play with his toys.

Tony is a sweet boy, but can get nippy without enough stimulation. When he decides it’s time to wrestle and play rough, he will happily choose you if not redirected to the appropriate playmate/cat toy with potentially painful consequences. He can also get overstimulated if he's bothered when he's all done hanging out with his people. Although we don’t know his history, we suspect that Tony was raised as a single kitten and taught to play rough, so he is just now learning appropriate play behavior. While he does need his beauty sleep, he is otherwise pretty active and needs space and an appropriate cat companion for a good chase or wrestling match.

Enter Elroy — a loveable house panther who is a nervous little guy. Elroy is a total lover, Tony's best friend, and a great criminal partner. While Tony enjoys center stage, Elroy prefers to lurk in the wings until he knows he is safe, and then he will headbutt and roll around purring. He has been known to get stuck in high places, get rescued, and then climb back up and get stuck again. He may not be the brightest bulb on the tree, but that works out really well, as Tony has enough brains for the entire operation.

Tony is about 3 and a half, and Elroy is 8 months old.

Tony needs to go to an experienced home with someone who can understand and pay attention to cat body language and is willing to create structure and boundaries (and lots of playtime). He actually listens very well if you are clear and firm. No kids.
