Tonka's Story

BACKGROUND: Tonka spent much of his life on his own as an outdoor cat, but everything changed once he came inside. Now that he knows the comforts of indoor living, he has truly blossomed into a happy, affectionate, and gentle boy. Tonka loves attention, enjoys being around people, and has a sweet, easygoing personality that makes him a joy to be around. He has also done well living with dogs and would do great in a home where he can continue soaking up companionship and love.

COMPATIBILITY: Tonka has gotten along well with dogs and children in his foster home. Tonka would do best as an indoor-only cat, either as the only cat in the home or with other FeLV-positive cats.

MEDICAL NEEDS: Tonka is Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) positive. FeLV is a virus that affects a cat’s immune system and is spread only through close contact with other cats, such as sharing food bowls or grooming. It is not contagious to people, dogs, or other animals. FeLV-positive cats may be more susceptible to illness and may have a shorter lifespan than other cats, but many live happy, comfortable lives for years with good indoor care and regular veterinary monitoring.

ADOPTION FEE: 125
