Tommy's Story

Tommy - Neutered Male. Approximate DOB: 12/1/2021. Tommy is current on his vaccines and has tested Positive for Feline Aids (FIV) and Negative for Feline Leukemia (FELV). He had a Dental in February due to a broken tooth and is doing great! He’s a SH haired Buff and White.

Note that FIV Positive cats can live a long and normal life indoors with regular good care by his family and a safe loving environment! Learn more about FIV here .

Here’s Tommy's story as sent by his rescuer: Tommy was rescued from an area in a local community where we had done a number of both rescues and TNR of feral cats in the neighborhood months before finding Tommy. We think he wanted out of there!! It was New Years Eve and we were his New Year's Resolution!!

Tommy did test FIV positive. His coat was dirty and his fur not full and soft like it is now!!! With trimming and brushing, his coat has grown back in fully and is very soft.
Tommy is a busy guy and loves attention and to play. He can best be described as a wanting love and attention! He is a big guy! He is not a fan of a lot of commotion, but comes around very quickly for pets or treats.

Cases like Tommy's remind us how often we’re surprised. We didn’t expect the Dental he needed to be pain-free—and we certainly didn’t expect him to become such a good boy!! But we’re all in now. He deserves a wonderful life off the streets and out of the cold.
Tommy would do best in a calm home with a loving family (no really young children, please). Best with no dogs to adjust to. He will need time to adjust, but he has so much love to give.
If you’d like to meet Tommy or any of our other adoptable cats and kittens, please complete a pre-adoption application at www.loveastraycat.com.
