Tokyo $99 ADOPTION FEE's Story
2 year old Tokyo, born November 15, 2022 was surrendered to Mattie's Place a very sick cat that had no control over her bladder according to her owners.Ā Ā

Since arriving into care to Mattieās Place, August 2025, thereās been zero potty accidents and she 100% uses her litter box as expected. Ā

On arrival to Mattieās Place, Tokyo was admitted into veterinary care and remained hospitalized for 10 days. She received her spay and we had exploratory surgery completed and found her bladder was very inflamed, scarred and infected. Ā The same with her uterus. Ā

Her uterus was removed with her spay. And she was started on heavy doses of antibiotics for her bladder. Ā We sent cultures out to ensure we were using the best antibiotic to manage her infection. Ā

Tokyo started using her litter box 100% immediately post surgery and continues to do so since August 15th, 2025 without a single issue. Ā

Tokyo is on a urinary support dry kibble (sheās offered wet but not a fan), available at pet stores. Ā

Approximately 2 months worth of food, Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition Urinary Care Adult Cat Food / $72.99 for a 6 pound bag.

Tokyo weighs in at 10 pounds.

She is a super darling cat. Ā Highly affectionate.

She did live with her littermate brother in the original home and though they got along, I think she was also very stressed by him (and could have also contributed to the urination problems) and/or the environment so a no pet home would likely be best. Ā

She is doing exceptionally well in her pet-less/kid-less foster home and I'm hoping to mimic that for her for-always home.

She'll be a wonderful feline companion to someone willing to give this young girl a chance.

FROM THE FOSTER:

Tokyo is a really sweet cat who has settled in to our home very quickly. While she was initially a bit nervous and mostly hid under the bed for the first few days, sheās very affectionate and came out many times even in the first day for some pets. Sheās now quite confident in the space and will usually join us in whatever room weāre in.Ā

Tokyo is a very snuggly girl and likes to sleep on our laps/chest, she often sleeps in the bed with us at night. Overall sheās very quiet at night time, though Iāll often find her off exploring a different area of our apartment when I wake up in the morning.Ā

As Tokyo has become more comfortable with us, sheās been quick to let us know when she needs something and has started to settle in to a feeding routine.

Sheās currently eating about 2/3 cup per day of her urinary kibble, split between morning (7am) and evening (7pm). Sheāll come over to eat a bit when we first put it down, then go back throughout the afternoon/night for more. Tokyo has a funny habit of leaving the last few partially chewed kibbles behind in her bowl.Ā

Tokyo has been absolutely perfect with using her litter box. Once we showed her where it was, she was very quick to start using it and hasnāt had any accidents during her time with us. Sheās using various kitty litters without issue.

Tokyo also become much more playful a couple weeks after joining our home. She enjoys chasing and swatting at toys. She very curious and will try to get into every closet & drawer if given the opportunity.

She also enjoys sitting in the windows and watching the birds & squirrels outside.

-----------------------To note: the above description is relevant to this cat in their current & previous setting. Home changes & adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim, endorse, suggest or hint at, that any of our dogs/cats are hypoallergenic, low shed or no-shed.

-----------------------$99 Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, deworming, flea/tick prevention, vaccinations, dentals if needed or any added surgical care required, food, nose to tail health exam, toys, litter and litterbox, dishes, scratch pad/tree and 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance with immediate coverage on adoption day.
