Tofu's Story
🧡 Meet Tofu -- A Gentle Heart Learning to Trust

📍 Currently at our Punta Mita, Mexico location
✈️ Easily transported to Canada & the U.S. with flight angel escorts

Tofu is one of our longest-resident shelter cats, and she is so ready for her turn. 💛
Rescued as a kitten from the Río Cuale, Tofu has spent over four years growing up in the safety of our sanctuary -- far too long for a cat with so much quiet potential.

She has always been an independent soul, but recently, something beautiful has been happening.

Once shy and watchful, Tofu has begun to trust. She now accepts gentle head pats from the shelter team she knows, eagerly comes out for treats, and can often be found stretching out comfortably in shared spaces. These may seem like small steps, but for Tofu, they are huge milestones.

In a home, Tofu will need time. She will likely hide at first -- and that's okay. With patience, consistency, and kindness, she will slowly show herself, first for treats, then for affection. She may never be a "lap cat," but she deserves the chance to decide that for herself, in a home that truly belongs to her.

One thing is certain: Tofu loves other cats. She finds comfort and confidence in feline companionship, and a calm, friendly resident cat would be a wonderful match for her.

Tofu is looking for a quiet, understanding home with someone who sees the beauty in earning trust rather than expecting instant affection. She doesn't need perfection -- just patience, safety, and a human willing to let the relationship unfold at her pace.....and someone who believes that even the quietest hearts deserve to be chosen. 🐾

Tofu has had our complete Cat protocol :

* Complete Health exam by a Vet
* Feline tests to rule out FeLV, FIV & Heartworm
* Bloodwork 1: CBC (Mycoplasma check if indicated)
* Bloodwork 2: Chem profile
* Deworming at intake and monthly thereafter
* Vaccines: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR), Feline Distemper (FP), Calicivirus (FCV), Rabies
* Spay/Neuter
* Flea/Tick prevention
* Microchipping

Please send us an application at : wetnosesrescue.org/adoption-application-Cats
