Tofu's Story

Meet Tofu - A Quiet Soul Starting to Shine
*Currently located at our Punta Mita,Mx. location~Easily transported to Canada & U.S.A via flight Angel escorts

Tofu has always been an independent spirit--but lately, she's been surprising us in the best ways. Once reserved and wary of human interaction, she's now beginning to trust. She accepts gentle head pets from staff, takes treats from caring hands, and confidently stretches out in shared spaces. She is one of our original rescues and is SO READY for her turn to find her person!! Over 4 years in a shelter is too long

She's always been a social butterfly with her fellow felines--Tofu adores other cats and finds comfort in their companionship. A home with another calm, friendly cat would be ideal for her.

Rescued as a kitten from the Rio Cuale, Tofu has grown up at our Punta Mita sanctuary. Now, she's ready for a special home: one that is quiet, patient, and understands that true trust takes time. While she may never be an outgoing cat, we believe--with the right person--Tofu has it in her to one day curl up beside you... maybe even in your lap.

Tofu doesn't ask for much--just the chance to feel safe and loved on her own terms. If you're the kind of person who sees the beauty in earning an animal's trust, she might just be the cat for you.

Tofu has had our complete Cat protocol :

* Complete Health exam by a Vet
* Feline tests to rule out FeLV, FIV & Heartworm
* Bloodwork 1: CBC (Mycoplasma check if indicated)
* Bloodwork 2: Chem profile
* Deworming at intake and monthly thereafter
* Vaccines: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR), Feline Distemper (FP), Calicivirus (FCV), Rabies
* Spay/Neuter
* Flea/Tick prevention
* Microchipping

Please send us an application at : wetnosesrescue.org/adoption-application-Cats

Wet Noses Rescue's Adoption Policy
First, adopters must fill out our online application at wetnosesrescue.org. If approved, there is a phone interview and virtual home check. We are a shelter based in Punta de Mita, Mexico, and also operate in San Diego. We understand that it can be challenging to meet our animals in person due to the distance. However, we have a process in place to ensure a smooth adoption experience. Most of our animals are located at our shelter in Punta de Mita. We frequently arrange transportation for our animals up the West Coast of the USA (San Francisco, Seattle, etc.) and the Western Provinces of Canada (Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, etc.). To help you get a better sense of the animals, we can offer additional photos, videos, and even schedule video calls. Please see our Google Reviews (https://goo.gl/maps/aDbyG4vW9YWNTs4d7) for some of our adoptive families' experiences. We are a volunteer run organization, and a flight angel would accompany them. This area is a touristy area, and many people like to volunteer in various ways to support the community, and especially support the neglected animals finding good homes. To secure flights, it generally takes us between 1-4 weeks once an animal is ready to go home.
