Sir Toby was recently knighted, though he is reluctant to brag. He was rightly honored as an outstanding example to shelter cats everywhere for his turnaround here at Pet Pride. Initially overwhelmed by all the new faces, smells, and sounds here, our handsome eight-year-old kept to himself. But staff and volunteers gave him the time, space, and encouragement he needed to adjust, and he responded by exceeding expectations. Although Toby does still value his independence, he accepts pets and affection gracefully, like all good British Knights do. This resilient boy awaits his new home, where he assuredly will continue to respond to patience, a quiet environment, and tea crumpets and scones.
