Tiny's Story
Hello, dear heart. My name is Tiny. I may be considered a senior girl at eight-years-old, and I may be shy at first... but oh, do I have so much love left to give.

For many wonderful years, I had a person. My person. We were each other's world — I was her comfort, her quiet companion, her little guardian with big jade eyes. But life changed in an instant... and she passed away, leaving me behind with no nearby family to care for me. That’s how I came to be at the shelter.

The days since have been hard. Imagine waking up one morning without the person who made you feel safe, and then being in a strange, noisy place with unfamiliar faces. It’s been scary — but I’ve been brave. Because I know she'd want me to be.

And so, little by little, I’ve started to trust again. I’m slowly learning that kindness still exists in the hands of strangers. When I feel safe, I like to flop over gently and offer my belly — the ultimate sign of trust. The staff here says I have the softest heart, and eyes that look like galaxies — shimmering with something beyond this world.

Did you know I used to sense when my person’s heart would race? I would climb into her lap or curl beside her to help her breathe and feel centered again. Some say I have a sixth sense for that sort of thing — I just think it’s love: pure and simple!

I’ve been spayed, I’m up to date on all my shots, microchipped, and completely litter trained. I’m ready — ready to find the next person who needs me, just as much as I need them.

I dream of a quiet home, full of soft sunlight, gentle voices, cozy blankets, and maybe a little wet food (okay, a lot of wet food). If you have a heart big enough to welcome a girl like me — a little shy, a little chonky, but overflowing with devotion — I’ll be waiting.

Please reach out to the shelter at 989-349-4117 or avascares2@gmail.com for more information on how you can bring me home during their business hours of 10am to 6pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
