Tiggs the Hopeful Heart's Story

Meet Tiggs – A Gentle Soul with a Survivor’s Heart

Tiggs has faced more in his young life than most could imagine. He came into foster care very sick, rescued from a tough situation, and shortly after arriving, nearly lost his life—twice. But Tiggs is a fighter. With love, care, and determination, he pulled through and is now thriving.

Understandably, Tiggs can be shy at first. His early experiences, including lots of medications and handling while sick, left him wary—especially around his head and face. But patience pays off. Once you earn his trust, Tiggs blossoms into the sweetest, most loving companion. He even meows to ask for affection, letting you know exactly when he’s ready for love.

He thrives in a calm, peaceful environment with a steady routine. Loud noises and chaos aren’t his thing, and he would do best in a home without young children. He’s fine sharing his space with friendly dogs and enjoys the company of other cats—especially calm, gentle feline friends.

Tiggs is playful and curious once comfortable. He loves chasing laser lights and feather wands, rolling blissfully in catnip, lounging on the catio, enjoying brushing sessions, and soaking up all the gentle love he can get. He is becoming braver and bolder every day, showing off more of his fun, affectionate personality.

Tiggs is looking for someone who values patience, safety, and the slow-building joy of a deep bond. If you’re ready to help a once-wounded soul fully bloom, Tiggs is waiting to meet you.

If interested in meeting Tiggs, please submit an application here: https://fjcasp.wufoo.com/forms/adoption-application

Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets's Adoption Policy
At FJCASP, we dedicate a great deal of love, time, and resources to caring for our animals, and our top priority is to see them go to permanent, loving homes with people who have the knowledge and means to provide proper care. Adoption Fee: $80–$150 Vet References Required We require that all potential adopters provide veterinary references. This allows us to confirm that any current or past pets have been kept up to date on vaccinations, preventatives, and are spayed/neutered. Most veterinary offices are familiar with this request. Our goal is to ensure that our animals are placed in homes where they will remain safe, healthy, and properly cared for. Long-Term Commitment Adopting a pet is a serious, long-term commitment. We want all potential adopters to understand their responsibilities and be prepared to care for an animal for its lifetime. Home Requirements To provide a safe environment, we require that adopters provide: - Proper shelter for the animal - Understanding of how to introduce a new pet to children and existing animals -Commitment to keeping the animal as an indoor pet Adoption Approval All adoptions must be finalized and approved by the FJCASP Board. This ensures oversight by experienced individuals who can confirm that all parties understand their responsibilities and that the animal’s welfare is prioritized. Adopter Responsibilities It is part of our adoption agreement that all medical treatments, veterinary costs, preventatives, food, and shelter are the sole responsibility of the adopter. Our goal is to place each animal in a loving, safe, and permanent home, and these guidelines help us ensure that every adoption is successful for both the pet and the adopter.
