Meet Tigger, a charming adult cat residing in a shelter. Tigger is known for his friendly demeanor, often greeting visitors with a soft purr. Despite his outgoing nature, he also has a shy side, especially in new situations. Tigger enjoys quiet moments and would love a cozy corner in a loving home where he can feel secure and cherished. Adopting Tigger means giving him the chance to flourish in a nurturing environment, where his gentle spirit can truly shine.<br/><br/>Tigger was diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is transmitted to other cats through deep bite wounds, so it is recommended that he not go to a home with cats who have tested negative for FIV. If the adopter does have other cats who are friendly then they could both live peacefully together, but there is always a chance of FIV being transmitted if a fight were to occur. Tigger likely spent a lot of his time roaming the great outdoors, but due to his diagnosis, he should be kept indoors to keep him and the neighborhood kitties as healthy as possible. Adopt a Pet from the Michigan Humane Want to adopt a pet from the Michigan Humane? Please review the pet adoption process below. Somebody Here Needs You. Adopters must be 18 years or older. Meet our adoptable pets. Browse our adoptable pets online, or visit a Michigan Humane adoption center in Detroit or Westland, or an offsite adoption partner location in Beverly Hills, Canton, Northville, Novi, Roseville, Rochester Hill, Troy, West Bloomfield, or Sterling Heights. For pets listed online, you may call the adoption center directly for more information. What to bring with you: • Driver’s license (or State of Michigan ID card) with current address. • Veterinary records for any current pets or pets owned in the last five (5) years or provide vet’s phone number. • All members of your household: Michigan Humane prefers (and in some cases requires) that all members of the household meet and are comfortable with the pet. • Any canine family members: Michigan Humane prefers (and in some cases requires) dog-to-dog meetings between your current dog(s) and potential new canine family members. Meet with an adoption counselor. Our trained adoption counselors will meet with you to ensure the pet is a good fit for your home, family and lifestyle. This is a great time to ask any questions you may have. Then, you can spend time with the animal or animals you are interested in. Complete the adoption. Please allow an hour or more for the adoption process. Save time by downloading a Preliminary Adoption Form online found on our website MichiganHumane.org. Ask about our valuable adoption package and convenient additional services that are available such as microchip implantation for dogs ($10 discount at time of adoption). Payment types accepted: Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. Once the adoption process is completed, a dog, cat or rabbit who is already spayed or neutered will go home with you the same day. Otherwise, the pet will be sterilized (normally scheduled for the next non-holiday weekday) at our on-site veterinary center before going home. Out of state adoptions: Michigan Humane will adopt to out of state residents who travel to our adoption centers to complete the adoption process, including the spaying and neutering of intact animals. Please call the adoption center in advance for information on our hold policy. For health and safety reasons, we are not able to ship animals.
