Tiberius's Story
Meet Tiberius, more commonly known as Tibbs, a stunning long-haired black gentleman with a story written in quiet resilience

Tibbs wandered into a colony one day looking like he had been through far too much. He arrived a bit beat up and in need of care, and had to be shaved during intake grooming to help him feel more comfortable. His luxurious coat is still growing back in patches, but it is already clear just how handsome he truly is.

Along the way, Tibbs was also diagnosed as FIV+. While that might sound scary, the reality is that FIV-positive cats can live long, happy, and healthy lives with proper care. It is primarily spread through deep bite wounds, so many FIV+ cats safely live with other friendly cats without issue. Most importantly, Tibbs' diagnosis does not define him or dampen his gentle, sweet nature.

We may never know exactly what Tibbs has been through, but he carries a few reminders of his past. Sudden movements or a balled-up “fist” can make him nervous. However, if you offer him a calm, open hand to sniff, he quickly realizes he is safe and begins to relax.

Tibbs is a simple boy at heart. He adores curling up in a cozy cave bed for long, peaceful naps, and the quickest way to win him over is with soft food. Once he learns you are the provider of his favorite meals, you will be rewarded with sweet moments like accepting gentle butt scratches and, over time, even little “hugs.” He may try to act like he is not into snuggles, but he is slowly learning that affection is a good thing.

Tibbs is looking for a patient, understanding home where he can continue to build trust at his own pace. In return, you will get to watch a shy, deserving boy blossom into a loyal and loving companion.

His adoption fee has been graciously sponsored, so all he needs is someone to give him the love and safety he has always deserved.
