Thumper's Story
If you’re looking for a cat to keep you on your toes, keep you entertained, and demand all of the attention in the room, then Thumper is the right match for you. Born in a litter of kittens who all, except for him, presented with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), he has grown up with four rambunctious, wobbly siblings. Despite not presenting with CH, Thumper does sometimes have balance problems when trying to make a big jump or maybe when he lands. We only mention it but he is like any typical cat and has ZERO special needs.

Thumper is very affectionate, he loves people, he is chatty and wants to be where his people are at. He will make a great companion kitty if you are looking for a loving kitty. Thumper is now 11 months old and has grown up in our rescue. He is more than ready to create a bond to his new mom or dad.

We just did a nose to nose introduction with Thumper and one of our 20 lb calmer dogs. He did very well, he was curious and should be ok in a home with a calmer cat friendly dog.

Thumper takes an extended period to adjust to new cats, he would be ok as an only cat OR with one other cat. He now does just fine in a room with 22 other cats/kittens.

Adoption fee $200 (includes transport)

_______________________________
Considering adoption?

Start by filling out our online application (copy and paste the following link)
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DIX/Cat

Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone or email.

A Petfinder Inquiry is not the same as an application -

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application.

If your application was successfully submitted you will get a generated confirmation email.

DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY READY TO ADOPT.

All of our animals are rescued and transported from South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them once adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved.

WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks.
We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019.

***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible. ***

We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents
