Thumbelina's Story
Meet Thumbelina, affectionately nicknamed “Thumbie”! This beautiful torbie girl is a polydactyl, meaning she has extra toes on all four of her feet — which is exactly how she earned her adorable name! She truly looks like she has thumbs on her front feet, and what better name than Thumbelina for a girl with thumbs!

Thumbelina came to Pet Angel as our first kitten of the season in 2024 after she was thrown from a car. She had road rash on her face when she arrived, but thankfully, that is all ancient history now! When Thumbelina was about 6 months old, she also decided that her spay stitches were something she needed to play with and ended up ripping them out, resulting in an infection and a longer stay in isolation... but that was back in 2024 and is ancient history now! These days, she is a happy, healthy, VERY outgoing girl who has left all of that behind her!

Thumbie is one of the most outgoing cats at the rescue. She absolutely LOVES people and is quite the little talker! She will happily chat with you, ask for attention, and purr up a storm while you're giving her pets. If you're looking for a cat who will actually have conversations with you, Thumbelina may be your girl!

She also LOVES being up high. She enjoys climbing, perching, and finding the perfect elevated spot where she can supervise everything happening around her. She actually prefers to be up high! And she isn't afraid to let the other cats know when she thinks they're doing something wrong — Thumbie can be a bit of a boss!

Thumbelina loves watching videos of birds on youtube, playing with catnip toys, drinking from her water fountain, and of course, getting treats. She is VERY treat motivated, and we wouldn't be surprised if her future family could teach her a few tricks using treats!

Thumbelina grew up with Cornelius (named after Prince Cornelius from the movie Thumbelina, of course,) who was once her best friend when they were kittens. As they've gotten older, however, they've become much more independent and are no longer a bonded pair. Thumbelina is perfectly happy having her own home and does not need to be adopted with Cornelius. She would likely prefer a home with other cats that will allow her to be the boss- but don't get it twisted, she is so friendly and kind!

Thumbelina would do well in an indoor-only home with other cats, and she could also live with small, respectful dogs. We do not think she would be a good match for a home with a large dog, as she would likely beat the dog up! She can also live with gentle children.

Thumbelina is fixed, microchipped, up to date on all her shots, and FIV/FELV negative.

If you're looking for a fun, social, talkative girl who will keep you entertained and make herself comfortable in the highest spot she can find, Thumbie might be the perfect addition to your family!

To get started on the process to meet this sweet girl, submit an application at https://petangeladoption.com/adopt-a-cat
