Theo the Gentle LoveBug's Story
Purrlease meet sweet Theo. He is truly the epitome of resilience.

Theo came into our Mojo’s Hope program after spending some time in a shelter setting where he was cautiously awaiting to show his personality. He was at AACC for months huddled in his hidey box, yearning to be noticed in his quiet, unassuming manner. Volunteers worked with him to help socialize and build his confidence, but it was very evident that in the shelter setting he was not going to take that step forward. However, that glimmer in his eyes gave his rescuers that hope that he would blossom when provided with a nurturing, patient environment that would give him the time to feel safe and secure. Therefore he was brought into rescue from AACC and into one of our loving foster homes. His foster home was new to the fostering world, and most importantly, new to helping a fearful, cautious cat who needed them to earn his trust. His foster home has been wonderfully receptive to guidance and has implemented positive based strategies to help Theo thrive.

Once Theo recovered from his neuter surgery, he felt comfortable enough in their home and absolutely blossomed. He will affectionately return your kindness with loud purrs and snuggles. Theo prefers to nuzzle up closely into your side and sleep for the day away. He also really seems to adore cozying up under a blanket. Soft, snuggly and safe!
However, don't let this cuddle monster fool you. Theo enjoys channeling his inner kitten by chasing around a feather toy and getting zoomies at unpredictable times. He loves to play just like any young cat.
In his foster home he has done well so far with their other neutered male cat and sometimes they even sleep next to each other! He seems curious about dogs but tends to be fearful of any that are really high energy. Therefore either a home without dogs would be preferred or an experienced home that has a very gentle, cat-loving pup may be suitable.
All Theo wishes for is for a warm home and someone to give him unconditional love which he will return tenfold. After all that he’s been through we feel he truly deserves it.

Enrichment and friendship building time is implemented every day in their foster home and we aim to end each "session" on a positive note.

Mojo's Hope always wants to ensure that our rescues choose the most wonderful home possible. To help our adopters match up with the PURRfect pet, we are asking something unique for our adoption fee.

First, we ask you to please fill out our adoption application. Our adoption fee for cats is generally $100.00. Instead of paying this adoption fee, we are asking our adopters to use that money towards preparing for the arrival of their newest addition.

Here is a list of suggested supplies to get your home ready. •Food/Water dishes • Uncovered Litter Box/Litter
• Scratching Posts/Cat Trees
• Feliway (cat pheromone that assists with stress and behaviors)
• Cat Beds/Hidey Spot/Cube/Kennel (foster home will provide at least one piece of bedding or a bed from the foster home to assist with the transition, having their own smell alleviates stress)
• Cat Trees/Perches
• Music (Through a Cat’s Ear is highly recommended, www.icalmpet.com
• Enrichment Toys
• Cat DVDs
• Collar/harness/ID tag
• Carrier

Mojo's Hope provides a care package for each of our rescues when they go to their adoptive home. This care package includes food, bedding, toys, enrichment activities, treats, and a transition packet. The transition packet provides the adopter with a look into the daily life of our rescue and helps the cat and the family support each other during this process.

Mojo's Hope has a very clear and strong position when it comes to cats keeping their claws. We are adamantly opposed to declawing. It is barbaric, cruel, and has proven to cause long-term negative effects on the cat’s body and emotional well-being. Both our adoption application and agreements have an additional clause that the adoptive family signs, that states very clearly that they agree to reach out to MH if behavior concerns arise and that they are never to declaw the cat.

Please do not submit your application if you have any intention of declawing.

Here is the link to our Adoption Application: http://mojoshope.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/AdoptionApplication.pdf
