Theo's Story

Meet Theo: Professional Hugger and Lap Cat

Theo is a big, handsome brown tabby with extra-long front legs, an enormous heart, and an unforgettable talent for giving actual hugs.

When Theo arrived at animal control, he was quite injured and clearly had been through a lot. While there, he was placed in a cone that was unfortunately too tight, which caused the marks visible in some of his photos. Thankfully, Theo made it into a loving foster home, where he finally had the safety and care he needed to heal - both physically and emotionally.

Despite his difficult past, Theo is not merely friendly. He is aggressively friendly. He will jump straight into your lap, demand pets, and wrap his long front legs around you in a genuine cat hug. After everything he has experienced, Theo still trusts people completely and wants nothing more than to be close to them.

Theo is FIV-positive, but that should not stop him from finding the family he deserves. FIV can weaken a cat's immune system, however FIV-positive cats can live normal, healthy lives for many years with appropriate care. FIV is transmitted primarily through deep bite wounds, not through ordinary contact such as sharing bowls, grooming, cuddling, or using the same litter box. Compatible, non-fighting cats can therefore live together with a very low risk of transmission, including FIV-positive and FIV-negative cats.

Theo has already survived the hardest part of his story. Now he needs a safe, loving home where his biggest daily concerns will be finding the best lap, collecting enough pets, and deciding who gets his next hug.

Adopt Theo and give this sweet survivor the happy ending he has been waiting for.

This pet is altered (spayed/neutered), up to date on age appropriate vaccines, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed and microchipped. An adoption application must be submitted and approved prior to scheduling a meet and greet appointment: www.felinefinecatrescue.org/adopt.
