Thea's Story

Thea is a 7 year old, spayed female, shorthair, calico cat.

Thea was adopted from PAR as a kitten and returned to PAR as an adult cat six years later due to stress and biting her previous adopter. She has been in foster home for a while and so we have been able to know her better.

Thea is a cat who will need a pet parent who is cat savy and understanding of some particular cat behaviors. She has some “cattitude” and has shown to be reactive if she doesn’t get her way. Usually, if you put her down when she still wants to be held and snuggled, she will get a huffy and complain by swatting. While in foster, this behavior has drastically improved. It could be tied to anxiety, and as long as she understands that she will get plenty of consistent attention, she has become more accepting of being put down and petted.

Thea is very sweet, friendly, and curious in her foster home. It took some time in her foster home to warm up, but after her acclimation, she has become very social and eager for attention. Thea asks to be picked up by placing her paws on your leg. After you pick her up, she will hug and snuggle you, you can even walk around with her holding your shoulder like this. She is a cat who truly wants to be very close to you.

Thea does not like other cats and would do best as the only cat in her home.

She has some past experience with a visiting small dog and didn’t seem to mind the small dog.

Thea will need a home that will provide her with company, enrichment opportunities for play and space to climb and run in her home.

The adoption fee is $200.

All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, negative for FIV&felv, and has been treated for parasites.

----

If you are interested in applying, please send us an inquiry through Petfinder.

Please do not call our hotline about these cat as email works best.

———-
PAR volunteers accept applications and upon pre-approval, a PAR volunteer will facilitate the visit with the adoptable cat.

We do not do visits unless the application has been pre-approved first.

Please watch our FaceBook page for adoption event postings happening at the PetSmart in Sunrise Village, Puyallup.
