Their absolute favorite toys all come with strings, and nothing makes them happier than the chance to show off some truly impressive jumping skills! The way to win the hearts of these sweethearts (and reach the purr factory!) are some good ol' head and butt scratches. Kitten-cuddles are in healthy supply first thing in the morning, and again when you get home from work. During the day you'll find them curled up together; there's nothing these two love more than to be together! Gherkin and Dill are neutered, up-to-date on their vaccines, negative for FIV/FeLV, and microchipped. They *must* be adopted into a home where they can be together forever -- no exceptions. Backyard Cats of Bed-Stuy's Adoption Policy

I ask that everyone interested in adopting a cat from me starts the application process by filling out my adoption application! The more details you can provide, the better. You can find the app here: https://www.backyardcatsofbedstuy.com/adoption-application Once I've received your application, if I'm interested in moving forward I'll reach out to schedule a Zoom call (or sometimes an in-person meeting, where possible). I often have the foster join as well to talk more specifically about each cat's personality and needs. If the meet-and-greet goes well, and if requested, the potential adopter can arrange a time to meet the cat(s) at their foster homes, or they can start out with a trial "foster-to-adopt" period of one month, to make sure it is a good fit for both cats and humans. A cat isn't considered "fully adopted" until they have been through proper vetting (spayed or neutered, given rabies and FVRCP vaccines, tested for FeLV and FIV, microchipped, and dewormed and treated for fleas). I love to stay in touch with my adopters and often receive updates about their new pets thriving in their forever homes!

I am an independent rescuer based in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn who has been rescuing abandoned and feral cats and kittens from backyards, front yards, sidewalks, parking lots, and abandoned buildings since 2020. My goal is to help every cat I meet live his or her best life -- safe, warm, and preferably in someone's lap. ...
