The Frozen Seven-Angel's Story

The Frozen 7 has become the Frozen 8!!
He wasn’t supposed to make it. By the time help arrived, winter had already taken so much. Several kittens were dead due to illness and harsh winter conditions. Seven remained, all cold, hungry, and sick; their lives hanging by threads no thicker than their whiskers. Three more kittens from this location who have not come into rescue yet-and may not survive long enough to come in! (Update: 8 kittens got out of the situation!)

One of them was the little Siamese now called Poopsy. He was found alive, but just barely. His body had been fighting a battle no one could see. Frozen waste had trapped him in constant pain, his tiny body straining until the damage became severe. He could barely cry anymore. He couldn’t move away from the cold. He was dying quietly. When he was finally brought inside, warmth didn’t fix everything right away. Hands had to do what the cold had already made cruel. Once the obstruction was removed and the wounds cleaned, the healing began, but survival was still uncertain. Overnight, he held on. By morning, he was still breathing. Each day since, he has chosen life again.

There were six other kittens ranging from 8-10 weeks, all small and sick, who were saved that day. Today, all seven (eight) rescued kittens are warm, fed, and safe in foster homes. Most have completed treatment for upper respiratory infections-one continues to get treatment. They sleep without shivering now. But safety came too late for some, and the ones who lived carry that history with them.

These kittens did not know comfort when they needed it most. They knew hunger. They knew cold. They knew loss. And yet, in just a few short weeks, they are ready for adoption, right as the holidays arrive for everyone else. They don’t need decorations or gifts. They need permanence-warmth, food, and love. Their personalities are starting to shine as they recover!

Every adoption opens space to help another life. Every home given is a promise that the suffering stops here. These kittens survived a winter that killed others. Please don’t let survival be the hardest part of their story. They are ready and waiting for an adoption!!!

Kittens being fostered in Charles City: Contact Brenda at 641-330-1767 for more information/adoption application
Clarice (female all black): “A little sweetheart”

Noel (female all black): “Sweet but shy-still adjusting to her new life”.
