Tessa's Story

**Tessa was in a colony with other cats, and would love to have a calm, friendly cat friend or few in her new home to hang out with and pass the days in quiet companionship.

Personality: gentle, observant, learning to love again

Tessa has lived quite the life for such a young lady. Before coming into care, she survived the challenges of outdoor life — fending for herself, raising litter after litter, and dodging persistent males. But to her great relief, those days are behind her now. Today, Tessa’s favourite pastime is soaking up the sunshine from her cozy window perch, watching the world go by as her meals are delivered right to her seat — just the way she likes it!

Though she’s had a hard start to her young life, Tessa has shown incredible resilience. She’s comfortable around humans and doesn’t shy away from gentle company, suggesting she may once have had a home before life took a turn. She’s still learning to fully trust again — she’ll accept soft pets and being picked up, though she prefers when humans let her come to them. With patience and love, we believe she’ll rediscover her inner cuddle bug and become the affectionate companion she was always meant to be.

Tessa has a playful side, too! She loves climbing up high, chasing the red dot, and batting around mouse and spring toys. She’s also quite social with her fellow feline friends — snuggling, playing, and finding comfort in their togetherness.

Tessa’s perfect home will include at least one friendly cat companion (or she’d be thrilled to go home with one of her many foster friends). With the right mix of feline friendship, a sunny window, and a gentle heart nearby, Tessa will truly thrive.

Tessa is ready for her next chapter — a peaceful, loving home where she can finally relax and be loved for the beautiful soul she is.

Would you like to make Tessa a part of your world? Please complete our online application found at: avacats.org/adopt/adoption-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
