Tess's Story
Tess is the bionic-speed kitten who proves that three legs are actually an upgrade. Born in May 2025, Tess's life took a dramatic turn just before Thanksgiving when she was found in a cat colony with critical injuries, likely from being struck by a car. She arrived at The Haven with a broken leg and a degloved foot, but this girl is a survivor. Following a successful amputation of her right rear leg and part of her tail, she didn't just recover--she took flight.

While Tess isn't sponsored by Red Bull, she moves as if she has wings, out-jumping and out-juking the four-legged variety with ease. Her resilience is matched only by her affection; she is so incredibly sweet that she will let her dinner wait while you give her the cuddles and attention she adores.

Though she might start new friendships with a skeptical hiss, she quickly warms up and reveals her sweet side to animals and people alike. Tess is resilient, adaptable, and ready to bring her high-energy "flight" into a forever home.

Tess is positive for FIV (Feline immunodeficiency Virus). FIV is not highly contagious and poses little health risk for healthy indoor cats. FIV+ cats can have a normal lifespan and safely live side by side with cats who are not positive.
