Tess

Tess is a beautiful two year old short-haired tortoiseshell female cat. She's quiet and friendly, and loves people and lots of attention. She's spayed and vaccinated and is looking for a permanent home without other cats or dogs. <br/><br/>Tess was abandoned when her owner moved away, and spent months scrounging on the street. She is a small cat and must have been terrorized by the larger cats in the neighborhood. <br/><br/>As winter approached Tess was taken indoors but a lady who rescues cats. Because of her fear Tess remained in a room by herself most of the time. She was warm, well cared for and fed but had little companionship. Gradually some of the friendlier house cats were permitted to visit but, when some kittens came into the room, Tess became very upset and refused to eat for several days.<br/><br/>After about a year, a quiet couple saw Tess' picture on a poster and inquired about adopting her. They had no other animals and 'something in her eyes' made them really like Tess. Tess seemed to sense that these people were special. She purred and stayed close to them throughout the interview.
