Telly's Story

Telly is a delight to live with 100% of the time. There's never a dull moment with Telly around! As a curious bottle baby with a can-do attitude and athletic body, Telly is pretty sure the "rules" don't apply to her. She eagerly explores the table tops and highest bookshelves like they were put there for her. Telly purrs readily, plays happily, and is very gentle. This petite calico makes amazing biscuits and is great company. You may have seen her on WCAL's social media! She loves her humans and is an amazing young cat. We're looking for an adopter who won't mind providing Telly with a special diet and attentive care.

Found all alone in Napa, Telly came to WCAL from an AT&T maintenance yard as an itty bitty baby who needed to be bottle-fed. We had some trouble weaning this kitty from a bottle onto canned food because she wasn't able to keep solids down at first. Working closely with our vet, we determined it was likely a food allergy causing occasional vomiting and indolent ulcers (also called eosinophilic granulomas). Telly eats a special diet of hydrolyzed protein kibbles, which is working well to keep her sensitive and adorable little body happy. She occasionally needs a round of prednisone if she has a flare-up (it's a low-cost medication WCAL doesn't mind helping with). The most common reason for sores or similar issues in special kitties like Telly is a food allergy or possibly stress in their home or even a flea allergy. If you would enjoy sharing your home with an outspoken calico princess and understand that Telly needs to continue this special diet to keep her feeling her best, then we have the loving, athletic kitten for you!

This kitten is one of those extra special babies - the ones our volunteers have bottle-raised. Kittens raised by humans are extra comfortable around people and love attention. Since they didn't have the opportunity to be raised by a mama cat, they have zero street smarts and we are looking for a family who is committed to keeping them indoorsonlyfor life.

Follow us on social media for daily updates! Wine Country Animal Lovers, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Adopting with WCAL is fun and easy! 1) Read the bios to find a good match then fill out the online application form on our website. Once we receive your completed application, our adoption counselors can answer questions and provide additional information about a particular pet: www.WineCountryAnimalLovers.org/adopt-a-cat/ www.WineCountryAnimalLovers.org/adopt-a-dog/ 2) One of our volunteer adoption counselors will review your application then contact you via email to answer questions and set up a meet and greet so you can take your new family member home. We can only set up meet and greets after an application has been received. All meet & greets are virtual during the pandemic and pet hand offs are no-contact to keep everyone healthy. 3) If the match is good for everyone, we'll arrange a time and place for you to bring home the animal and email you medical records for you to share with your vet. WCAL hosts a private facebook group for our adopters to offer post-adoption support and advice. Live happily ever after with your new pet & don't forget to send us updates! We are a foster based rescue group and do not have our own facility. All our adoptable pets are living in various homes throughout Napa and Sonoma Counties so we need to schedule meet and greets in advance. As an all volunteer rescue, most of us have full time jobs and so weekends and weeknight evenings usually work best. Thank you for your patience!
