Teenie's Story

??????TEENIE??????
TEENIE, who is not so teeny anymore, is a neutered Siamese mix who has had his share of (now resolved) treatable ailments. From the time he came into Place For Cats' system in late 2021, he was a character. As his favorite, he chose a toy nearly twice his size which he carried around in his mouth. Four years later, he still favors the same toy; witness the videos of him as a wee kitten and then fully grown with the same toy.

Teenie's kittenhood into adolescence issues included a fungus on his paw pads, then URI which, when treated with simple amoxicillin resulted in severe rash across his chest and under arm pits. Changes in antibiotics took time. These issues were resolved at which point very severe gum disease made itself known by way of bleeding gums and expressions of pain when eating. However, the dental specialists at The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center didn't want to start removing teeth until all Teenie's adult teeth came in so there were several more months of waiting.

Finally, in Teenie's second year his diagnosis of stomatitis resulted in full mouth extraction at AMC with the wonderful Dr. Django Martell. Teenie's recovery, took ages. He was miserable for months after the surgery.

Thankfully, for the past 18 months or so, Teenie has not shown signs of any other ailments. Teenie has evolved to a point though where he is unhappy in his foster home that is a a bit crowded with quite a number of furry vagabonds.

TEENIE deserves - and best will thrive in - a single cat household where he can be Top Cat and enjoy undivided love & attention from his careperson - or possibly with just one other kitty who keeps to himself.

TEENIE is desperate for a more regular environment where he will not be bumping into foster mates every few feet. A big windowseat will suit TEENIE best as he spends 18 hours a day on the "kitty terrace" where he can watch the birds.

If you can offer TEENIE a loving home where he will be Top Cat, please reach out to us here or email placeforcatsinc@verizon.net for more information and/or an application. Please write a few sentences why you believe TEENIE will fit well into your household.

TEENIE is neutered, current in vaccinations, FeLV/FIV tested negative, microchipped and healthy.

Adoption requires a fee of $175 and a home visit.
