Teddy's Story

Hi! I’m Teddy (aka Teds, aka Teddy Bear, aka Chunky Monkey — my foster Mom can't make up her mind!). I’m a former rough-and-tumble outdoorsman from Lake George who is officially retiring to a life of snacks and snuggles.

I had a bit of a "tough" start. I survived a toe injury. It’s now a little longer than the others, but still very distinguished. I have some frostbitten ears from some cold nights outside. I also happen to have FIV+ status, which basically just means I have a slightly weaker immune system, but a huge heart. FIV is not transmitable to humans or other animal species - and transmission to other cats only occurs through deep bite wounds, NOT casual contact such as sharing a water dish, grooming, or sharing a litter box! I’m healthy, happy, and ready to live a long, spoiled life!

Why You’ll Love Me:
The Look: I have the chubbiest cheeks you’ve ever seen, a cute "kinked" tail, and I’m a "big boy" (I may or may not be stealing my foster sister's dinner).
The Moves: I think I’m a track star, but Mom laughs at my "awkward jumpy run." I also grunt like a little piglet when I hunt my feather wand.
The Invisible Cat: When I’m in my tunnel, I’m 100% invisible. Don't tell the wand I'm coming for it!
Professional Cuddler: I’m a master at making biscuits, suckling blankets, and snoring (just a tiny bit!) on your lap.

My "Teddy" Quirks:
Slow & Steady: I like to sniff your hand first! Fast movements still give me the spooks, so I prefer a gentle approach to my head scratches.
The "Stay With Me" Grab: I get a little sad when you leave the room, so I might try to gently hook your leg with my "clawsies" to keep you there.
Training Skills: I’m teaching my foster Mom tricks! When I nibble/bite her arm, she says "NO!" See? She’s very well-trained.

The Dream Home:
Roommates: I love other cats! I’d thrive with a feline brother or sister to chase.
The Humans: I prefer adults. I haven’t met dogs or kids yet, so I’m a bit of a mystery there.
The Vibe: Indoors only, please (unless it's a catio)! I’ve done my time in the wild, and I much prefer the "clean fur and litter box" lifestyle.

I’m a very clean, very silly, very round boy who just wants a forever lap to purr on. I'm ready to meet you whenever you are!

NOTE 1: Spays, neuters, first vaccinations and vet checks are included in the adoption fee.

NOTE 2: Because a young kitten needs feline companionship, it is the policy of Cat Rescue Network that kittens 6 months or younger be adopted out in pairs unless there is another kitten or young cat already in the home.

NOTE 3: Cat Rescue Network only adopts their cats to homes in the National Capital region of Canada.
