Taz's Story

Tiny Bengal, Taz, has come a long way from the fearful, on-guard feline who was on the streets from the summer months, right into November. She was born around April 2023, and has now been fully vetted.

After her isolation for almost a week at her new home, she showed her brave nature by going right up to her canine foster brother, Rico. For the first three weeks, she would instantly hide if her foster mom came too close. As of late, she's more present and anticipates affectionate strokes or the wand-under-the-envelope game. She still takes cover under the futon at times, but one can always see her cute, curious face. If company comes over, she will be elusive.

Her initial appetite was ravenous, as she was undernourished upon arrival. Today, her meals are more spread out, and she even enjoys licking food off of a finger or a spoon. When her foster mom prepares the food dishes, Taz and Rico watch attentively for treats and droppings. Taz can be quite vocal before the plate is put down.

Taz is coming out of her shell and is becoming affectionate with her foster, seeking pets and purring loudly when they are received.

She loves to sleep in her cat tree or perch on top of a bin to get a full view of her living space. At her cutest, she will ask for some petting and will even reach out her paw, asking for more! Occasionally, she'll jump on the bed at night, finding an available corner a few feet from Rico and Mom.

Being a Bengal, her many voices (from a chirp to a howl) demand different things, and it's been an adventure trying to figure it all out. Her chirps are quite heartwarming and entertaining!!!

In the night, she will want some kind of human attention, calling out to anyone who will listen. If her people are asleep, Taz will return to her favorite spot until morning.

NOTE 1: Spays, neuters, first vaccinations and vet checks are included in the adoption fee.

NOTE 2: Because a young kitten needs feline companionship, it is the policy of Cat Rescue Network that kittens 6 months or younger be adopted out in pairs unless there is another kitten or young cat already in the home.

NOTE 3: Cat Rescue Network only adopts their cats to homes in the National Capital region of Canada.
