Tailspin's Story
Meet Tailspin!
➖ About 2.5 years old
➖ Has CH (cerebellar hypoplasia) meaning that he lacks balance and motor control but the condition is not painful or progressive or contagious, he’s just a little wobbly 💙
➖ Neutered male
➖ UTD on all medical care
- He is good with other cats after he gets to know them, but can be kind of sassy at first, so he needs a more laid back cat or one that won't be offended by his initial attitude.
- He is good with dogs that are not in his face. If they will either ignore him or just hang out with him, he likes that and then will interact with them.

This handsome fella has a sad backstory.
The quick version is that he was adopted as a kitten, then his people moved and him and his sister ended up “getting out”. They were both special needs and had been “causing problems” in the home. But rather than contact us, the cats ended up outside and we were never notified. His sister has never been found and likely did not survive. 😢
When Tailspin was found by AC and taken to the vet for his “neurological behavior”, they found his microchip and called us which is how we found out what had happened. When we contacted the humans, they said they didn’t want him back (not that we would have given him back), and they had been relieved when they had gotten out 🤬 we tried to talk to AC and see if there was anything we could do to press charges for this cruel situation, but because they claim they “got out” and there was no evidence of any mistreatment, there was nothing we could do. This was still during the cold of winter, and this boy was COVERED in engine oil and he was SKIN AND BONES. He could barely walk at all and was terrified. 💔 he wouldn’t have survived much longer.
We’re livid about the situation, but need to look forward so please minimize negative comments.
Now the good news: Tailspin is doing GREAT now! 💙 He has gained healthy weight, he has gained lots of muscle mass and gets around GREAT despite his CH. He uses the litter box 90% of the time, still having occasional potty accidents, but not usually. He LOVES toys and LOVES humans! He can do a few stairs at a time, but would do best in a home where he could be either kept on one level or where there aren’t too many stairs. He does well with other cats after a slow introduction but can be a little sassy/defensive at first. He loves kids 💙
While it’s hard for us to let him get adopted again and to trust another family with him, we know he deserves more attention than we can give him 💙
➖Adoption Application: https://airtable.com/appJNHv8DgBWn7eBi/shrUO1EIkJJahxILJ
