Meet Tagalong 🖤🤍<br/><br/>Tagalong is a 13-year-old spayed female black and white Domestic Shorthair with a gentle, reserved spirit. She came to us as part of a Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) program alongside her brother, Do-Si-Do. During that time, Tagalong was found to be sick, and she was lovingly surrendered to the rescue so she could receive the care she needed.<br/><br/>Tagalong has now been with us for almost two years, spending that time adjusting to indoor life and learning that she is safe. She is very shy and tends to hide frequently, preferring quiet spaces where she can feel secure and undisturbed.<br/><br/>She is looking for a calm, peaceful home with someone who understands shy, senior cats and is willing to give her patience, time, and space without pressure. While she may never be outgoing or affectionate in a traditional way, she deserves a loving environment where she can live comfortably and stress-free in her golden years.<br/><br/>If you have a quiet home and a compassionate heart for a shy senior, Tagalong may be the perfect companion. 💕<br/><br/>Tagalong has had all age appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed with a general dewormer, has been spayed, microchipped, received monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and tested negative for FeLV virus.<br/><br/>We do recommend rechecking a fecal within 48 hours after you take any cat home, covered by us. If she is positive for any parasites, we will get you a dewormer recommended by your vet at no extra cost.<br/><br/>Adoption fee is $100. We take check, card, and cash.<br/><br/>You will receive a copy of the microchip form when you bring her home, and we will register it for you! In the first week, we would like to check the account to make sure we did not make any errors. After that, it will be your responsibility to keep the information accurate and up to date. This is a lifelong enrollment, and you will not have to pay towards it again. The microchip sits under the skin, between the shoulder blades. Your username will be your email address, so you will be required to have one. Once you logon to petlink.net, you can change the password to whatever you would like.<br/><br/>You will also receive a copy of your adoption contract, signed by you and a Pawsitive Cause board member. This contract will go over that our cats are seen by a veterinarian, have received vet care, and had their hearts listened to, but we cannot guarantee the health of any animal.<br/><br/>You will also receive a hand out about Upper Respiratory Infection in cats, as many animals in rescues and shelters have been previously exposed to this illness. Even if they are not showing signs of URI, the change or stress of going home can bring those symptoms on, which is why we send you home with the hand out.<br/><br/>We will go over a checklist to make sure that we did not miss anything. You will receive a copy of this as well. We have asked our fosters to bring some food for you to take home to transition on to what you would like them to eat. We have always offered both wet and dry food.<br/><br/>Tagalong is using litter boxes great. However, we recommend starting her out in a room with a litter box, and open more and more of the house at a time. Do not move the litter box a lot! This also helps with introductions to other animals. You should always do slow introductions under a door with a few days of no sight. Once all of the animals are calm and used to the new noises and smells, you can start offering treats at the door to both animals, then open the door and start letting them slowly mingle.<br/><br/>Lastly, you will receive a paper copy or email copy of all medical records we have on file. We would love it if you continued your vet care with us at Pawsitive Care, but we understand if you have a vet you love!
