Meet Sylvie!<br/><br/>Sylvie is a beautiful black female cat believed to be only about one year old. She is one of the 38 cats recently rescued by Edgar and Ivy from a heartbreaking hoarding situation.<br/><br/>Sylvie and the other cats were living crowded together in a very small space with almost no resources. They were suffering in the extreme heat with limited access to food and water. The cats were unsterilized, extremely thin, and many were suffering from upper respiratory infections. The psychological stress was overwhelming, and severe stress grooming and hair loss could be seen throughout the group.<br/><br/>These cats had been through hell.<br/><br/>When Sylvie arrived at Edgar and Ivy, we discovered that this young girl was already in the early stages of pregnancy. At barely a year old, she was facing motherhood while struggling to survive herself.<br/><br/>Sylvie was triaged by our veterinary team and received the medical care, nutrition, parasite treatment, and individual attention she desperately needed. She has now been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, placed on flea prevention, and treated for her medical conditions.<br/><br/>Despite everything Sylvie has endured, she is incredibly sweet. After living in conditions that gave her every reason to be frightened and distrustful, she still wants affection and responds beautifully to kindness.<br/><br/>Sylvie doesn't have to struggle anymore. She will never have to give birth to litter after litter or compete with dozens of other cats for food, water, or a safe place to rest.<br/><br/>Now this sweet young girl gets to begin an entirely different life.<br/><br/>Sylvie is ready for a safe indoor home where she can finally learn what it feels like to be someone's beloved cat.
