He originally came to us through a TNR program, but it soon became clear that Sylvester was never meant to live outdoors. With time, patience, and kindness, he revealed his true nature: a loving, affectionate cat who was always destined to be someone's house cat.<br/><br/>Sylvester is a bit shy at first and would likely thrive in a quieter home where he can settle in at his own pace. Once he feels safe, his affectionate side shines -- he adores being pet and will gently push into you to make sure the love doesn't stop. Despite his shy nature, he does like children and has shown himself to be gentle and sweet with them.<br/><br/>One of Sylvester's most endearing qualities is how well he gets along with other animals. He especially enjoys the company of dogs and other cats and is very submissive by nature. Because of this temperament, he poses a very low risk of passing FIV to another cat, making him a wonderful candidate for a home with existing feline companions.<br/><br/>Sylvester is FIV-positive, which simply means he needs a bit of understanding -- it does not define him or limit his ability to live a long, happy life. He also recently underwent surgery to correct entropion eyelids and is recovering fabulously.
