Syd's Story
Syd
DOB-7/2017
Adoption fee-$250

Syd and Lola have had their lives turned upside down. After being in the only home they’d ever known, they have found themselves without a forever family.

Thankfully, LapCats was able to take them in to keep them safe and loved until their person comes along. While fostering them, we have decided they are not a bonded pair and can be adopted separately, but Syd will most definitely need another cat in the home that he can buddy up with. He loves other gentle cats.

Here’s his story-
We found Syd and Lola in our backyard on July 4, 2017, when they were about four weeks old. Even though they were born outside, they quickly adapted to being around and have lived their entire lives happily indoors.

Syd has always been a little special! He loves to hide in dark spaces and quietly watch what’s going on from a distance. Once he warms up to you, he’ll ask for gentle pets. He has a funny habit of tapping you on the back or side to get your attention—only to flop onto the ground the moment you reach for him. He absolutely loves tummy scratches! Syd can get a bit nervous when he hears grocery bags, but if you’re sweeping the floor, he’ll run right up and want you to pet him with the broom—often to the point where you can’t finish sweeping. And if you try to sit at your desk to get any work done, he’ll jump right into your lap for attention.

When they were younger, they used to race from one end of the house to the other, though they’ve slowed down a bit as they’ve gotten older. They still have their playful moments and absolutely love their cat tree. They leave our furniture alone and do great about staying off the counters.

Unfortunately, due to our son’s job, which keeps him away for months at a time, he hasn’t been able to take them with him and left them in our care. Recently, we took in our two grandsons—ages 5 and 11—both of whom have severe allergies. Sadly, this means we have no choice but to find loving new homes for Syd and Lola.

The first step in our adoption process is the application which can be found on our website lapcats.org.

All of our cats have tested negative for FELV and are fully vaccinated. They have not only been spayed or neutered but have also been treated for worms, fleas, and have been micro chipped.

We will register their microchip for you, provide you with a free exam visit to a participating Sacramento veterinarian, and a goodie bag! We do not do out of state adoptions for the safety of our cats.
