Sweetie and her sidekick Ginger Domestic Short Hair & Tortoiseshell Mix Yardley, PA

Sweetie is a 3 year old all black beauty. She came to JVC from a home with too many animals. Sweetie is a timid girl who is looking for a one of a kind, special adopter. Sweetie is very apprehensive about people in general and takes a long time to feel comfortable in a home. She has been with her foster family for about 2 years now and, although she is relaxed and seems happy, she still doesn't let people get too close to her. Sweetie has the potential to develop into a more trusting, loving pet, but we're looking for someone who will let Sweetie be herself which means she might just be a 'shadow cat' in your home. 'Shadow cats' are those who are more comfortable with other cats and while they're no trouble in a home, they're happy to hang back like a shadow. Sweetie went from hiding 24/7 and being defensive if approached in her foster home to coming out and playing while people are in the room. She will even cautiously walk by or jump on the couch for a brief moment to see how you will react. She also has a friend at her foster home, Ginger who is a 2 year old gorgeous tortie. Ginger is equally apprehensive about people but these two have bonded and truly love each other. These two makes small steps each week that show they are happy and comfortable in their space. This makes us hopeful that they will trust people one day, but there is no guarantee. These girls might always be content to enjoy the company of their family from a distance. We're looking for a patient adopter for Sweetie and Ginger who loves animals for who they are and will let them be loved and taken care of in a way that makes them most comfortable. We know this is asking a lot of an adopter, but we're hoping to find a hero for these young souls. They are a sweet pair just looking for a home where they can be themselves and show their family love in their own way through little signs of trust and happiness. Sweetie and Ginger both adapt to new foster kittens who have come into the foster home so we think they would do fine with other cats in the home after a slow introduction.

Sweetie and Ginger would also be candidates for a barn or sanctuary. If you have a barn where you provide a warm shelter and food for outdoor cats that have been vetted (spayed/neutered) and are willing to give Sweetie and Ginger the time to acclimate to their new home, please reach out to us if you'd be willing to add Sweetie and Ginger to your colony.
