He absolutely loves everything from ear scritches to full-body back massages and gentle lower-back pats. And he'll reward you for your attention by coming out of his shell—gently kneading the floor, body-slamming the furniture, and maybe even showing you his marshmallow belly (although he'd prefer that you admire it rather than pet it!).

Sweet Potato is a sweet boy who can also be quite fearful, so he'll need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. As he's getting to know you, he may even quietly growl while walking toward you for more scritches. He's scared, but he's brave—and once he begins to trust you, you'll see more and more of his sweet personality emerge.

Sweet Potato is FIV+. With good veterinary care, a nutritious diet, and a loving indoor home, FIV-positive cats can enjoy happy, fulfilling lives. Being FIV+ doesn't define this wonderful boy—it is simply one part of who he is.

Are you ready to give Sweet Potato the quiet sanctuary, patience, and love he needs to learn that he's safe? He may take a little time to trust you, but the relationship you'll build with him will be so worth it. NOTE: Fee will be waived for the right applicant with the experience and love he deserves.

You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt from us. We accept online/electronic credit or debit card pre-payments for adoptions (no cash).

NOTE: Please do not ask us to HOLD a cat/kitten for you. Our space is very limited as we don't have a facility.

Laurel Cats does not have a shelter or storefront. Our kittens and cats are placed in the homes of loving volunteer fosters until they are adopted. This means our cats are accustomed to being handled and loved. Please ask questions if you're interested in any of our cats

Laurel Cats's Adoption Policy
Since Laurel Cats is primarily a spay and neuter group rather than a rescue with a shelter, the cats that we have for adoption are living at the homes of our volunteers. Please contact us and we will gladly put you in touch with the volunteers caring for these cats. Finding volunteer foster space is challenging, and once a cat or kitten is ready for adoption we are naturally keen to free up the space in order to help more cats and kittens in need. We therefore ask that you only apply to adopt one of our cats or kittens if you are in a position to take them immediately, subject to a home check.
