Sweet Pea's Story

Is your feline friend lonely? Do they need a companion to spend the long chilly days with? Sweet Pea might be the perfect fit!

Sweet Pea is a 10 year old calico who loves other cats. Old and young, she gets along with them all. Her best friend in her foster home is a 3 year old spunky guy who she likes to wrestle and play with. She is also known to cozy up next to her 10 year old foster sister and bat the other old lady cat, instigating play.

Sweet Pea is always near her foster mom, joining her on the couch to watch TV or read. She'll walk by giving a friendly sniff, but tends to keep going. Even though Sweet Pea might not show her human much affection, she enjoys interactive play with wand and feather toys and even sleeps in her human’s bed! Knowing she doesn't give herself over easily, when she caves to pets and purrs it's all the more rewarding.

Aside from playing with feathers, the sure way to win Sweet Peas heart is through crunchy treats. She might not have any teeth, but she scarfs down the Temptations!

Last year, Sweet Pea developed Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), which is a very rare mutation of a common cat virus. She’s successfully undergone a full round of treatments plus a lengthy period of observation, and she is ready to live a healthy life and start her next chapter. What was once a death sentence is now has an extensive treatment that gives cats a second chance on life!

Sweet Pea is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and up to date on all vaccinations. If you have a cat who could use a friend, apply to adopt Sweet Pea!

Note: All of our cats are in foster homes in the Pittsburgh area, so the first step in adopting from us is to fill out an application here:
http://bit.ly/3VDJfhm
